Cultural Narrative:

Old Pueblo Cafe and Pub is a family owned restaurant located in the historic district of Old Litchfield Park. The owner, Peter Mahoney opened the restaurant in 2002.

His favorite restaurant, Saguaro Cafe closed down years ago. He hired a chef from there, Ernestina "Tina" Borquez to create the menu for Old Pueblo. Tina checks on Old Pueblo, coming back to Arizona from Mexico every couple of weeks to make sure everything is still up to her standards. Tina makes homemade tamales and uses recipes passed down from her family for years. Tina created a Sonoran style menu.

Peter Mahoney and his daughter work at the restaurant. The establishment holds fund raisers for local schools and can also serve as a venu for events. Old Pueblo can serve larger parties of 100-150 people. Recently, the Cafe held a 30 year high school reunion.
